キューバの主力輸出品であるラム酒ハバナクラブの製造にも影響を及ぼし、挙げ句の果てには新型コロナウィルスが世界中に蔓延している中、キューバ大使館のフェイスブックペによると人工呼吸器のメーカー2社が米国企業に買収されためにキューバとの取引停止を通告されたそうです。人工呼吸器は言うまでもなく新型コロナウィルスの重症患者の治療において重要な医療機器であります。
一人でも多くの人にこの曲が届くように。
キューバ人との友情、キューバ人の人間性を讃えた曲です。

一日で作詞、作曲、レコーディングまで行うワークショップ “One Day Songwriting Jam”の3回目。今回は詩人 Satole Satoru Seno さんとペアを組みました。
「晩夏のオーバードライブ」という曲が生まれました。

2018年12月に初めて訪れた際にお世話になったキューバ人への感謝の気持ちをテーマにした「マレコン通り El Malecón」。私のキューバ滞在をテーマにドキュメンタリー映画「12月にキューバ会おう」を制作してくれた山本学監督にこの曲のPVを作ってもらいました。YouTubeにアップしています。
前半を日本語、後半をスペイン語で歌っております。

キューバで開催しているイベント「アニメ手裏剣ジャパン」に招待してくれた主催者のマルセルをはじめ、たいへんお世話になりました。キューバ人たちへの感謝の気持ちを込めてこの曲を書きました。日本語とスペイン語で歌っています。

キューバのハバナで開催しているAnime Shuriken winter 2018 というジャパンイベントにゲストとして招待してもらった。イベントは2018年12月26日から28日まで開催。初日の26日はホテルパノラマ。27日と28日は第26動物園で開催。初日のオープニングアクトとしてチェ・ゲバラが1965年に子供たちに書いた最後の手紙にインスパイアされた「ゲリラ闘争記」を歌った。通訳をしてくれた青年の名前はなんとチェ・ゲバラと同じエルネスト。母親は著名な女優で元軍人。もちろんチェ・ゲバラにちなんで名付けられたそうです。「私はこの曲を歌うためにハバナに来ました。」というMCの後に、スペイン語、英語、日本語の順で歌った。会場は入りきれないほどの人で溢れていた。歌いはじめると手拍子もなく、じっくりと静かに聴いている。歌い終わった直後に割れんばかりの拍手と歓声。ドキュメンタリー映画の撮影もしていたのですが音響の針が振り切ってしまったほどだったそうです。その様子を主催者であるMarcelがフェイスブックで動画配信してくれていたので終盤の14秒間に編集してインスタグラムにアップ。

エルネストがスペイン語、英語、日本語という順序が奏功したと後で話してくれた。初日は一曲だけでしたが歌い終わった後に次々に写真撮影や握手、またコード進行を教えてほしいというオファーもあった。
最終日の28日は第26動物園で30分のステージ。「ゲリラ闘争記」「エキストラたちの咆哮」「Take Your Marks」「カムイ -アイヌの祈り-」。この日は私も熟読している「Amazing Cuba」の著者である千野祐子さんも来てくれた。感激したのはキューバ人女子大生のガブリエラが「Take Your Marks」のスペイン語訳をすぐに送ってくれたこと。
帰国してからも「ぼくらの国の英雄についての曲を歌ってくれてありがという」というメッセージやフェイスブックでの友達申請が相次いだ。真心に溢れたキューバ人たちとの友情をテーマに曲を作り、感謝の気持ちを伝えるのがシンガーソングライターとしての役目だと思っています。
